Surprise Surprise another pasta recipe. If you couldn't tell, I love making anything that involves pasta.
I cut out this recipe from William Sonoma's catalog and adapted it a bit for to make it a quick weeknight dinner. If you've never tried Spaghetti Bolognese before, give it a try, my kids and my husband gave it 2 thumbs up. I will be enjoying it for lunch tomorrow as well!Again, feel free to fancy it up a bit with your own homemade sauce. I love the Classico sauces and find it a real time saver to just jazz those up a bit. The color of this sauce is a creamy red/orange. My husband was a little skeptical until he took one bite. I, of course said, I told you, you'd love it! The bacon is surprisingly really good in the sauce. It gives it a real smoky flavor. If you are tired of the same old spaghetti, this is a great way to mix it up. I will be making it again very soon. Enjoy!
Spaghetti Bolognese
12 strips uncooked bacon, cut into ½ inch pieces
1 medium onion, diced
1 lb ground beef
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1 26 oz jar Classico Pasta Sauce (or other favorite brand, or homemade)
1 ¼ Cups half and half (can also use regular milk)
¼ Cup parmesan cheese
2. Meanwhile cook pasta according to package directions. Spoon noodles onto a large plate and pour sauce right on top. Sprinkle with additional parmesan cheese if desired.

The name sounds just like Agnese from one of the past Bachelor shows.
Those are great pictures! I try so hard for my pictures to turn out, since I don't have the best camera.
I've never tried bolognese before, but I'd love to. Sounds very Mario Batali.
King of Italy,
Very funny Mr. Picky Palate. I love when you hack on!
Emiline,
Thanks! I was lucky enough to get a new camera a few months ago and boy what a difference it made with my pictures. However, your pictures always look great to me.
I was so surprised at how yummy this dish was. Have a great day!
I love how thick the sauce looks. I hate it when spaghetti sauce is thin and doesn't stay on top of the pasta. This sounds very good!!
I saw this recipe too in Williams Sonoma and it looked DELISH! I am so glad you posted it here. Don't you LOVE that magazine?
I Love William Sonoma period! I wish I could buy whatever I wanted from there!
Sunday before Christmas, I fixed it for my family. They loved it! I did a lower fat version. Used Milk and Ground chicken and turkey bacon. It was tasty.
Glad to hear the lower fat version is good Jill. Glad your family enjoyed! Have a great Christmas!!
Even though I am not much of a Spaghetti Bolognese person, yours looks really good, so I am gonna try it soon. Right now I am in the middle of hosting a Pantry Challenge Contest on my blog ( http://weblog.xanga.com/Divine_Diva_in_NC ), and we have no ground meat LOL
I found your link because Laura at http://orgjunkie.com/2008/04/menu-plan-monday-april-28th.html posted this recipe on her weekly menu.
I am so glad i found you. I love your blog!
